DTC 2-1: | Open or Increased Resistance in Front Passenger's Airbag Inflator |
Special Tools Required
SRS inflator simulator ( 07SAZ-TB4011A)
1. | Erase the DTC memory. |
2. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off. Does the SRS indicator stay on? YES - Go to 3. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. |
3. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes. |
4. | Disconnect the P1o connector from the P1i connector (A).

5. | Connect the special tool (2 W connector) to the P1i connector (A). |
6. | Reconnect the battery negative cable. |
7. | Erase the DTC memory. |
8. | Read the DTC. Is DTC 2-1 indicated? YES - Go to 9. NO - Open or increased resistance in the front passenger's airbag inflator; replace the front passenger's airbag.n |
9. | Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes. |
10. | Disconnect the U1o connector (A) from the SRS unit.

11. | Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator (special tool) from the SRS simulator lead C. |
12. | Check resistance between the A and B terminals of the SRS simulator lead C (special tool). There should be 1.0 W or less.
Is the resistance as specified? YES - Faulty SRS unit or poor contact at the U1o connector and the SRS unit, check the connection between the U1o connector and the SRS unit. If the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit.n NO - Open or increased resistance in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness.n |
