|DTC 12-1:||Open or Increased Resistance in Front Passenger's Side Airbag Inflator|
Special Tools Required
SRS inflator simulator ( 07SAZ-TB4011A)
|1.||Erase the DTC memory.|
|2.||Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.|
Does the SRS indicator stay on?
YES - Go to 3.
|3.||Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.|
|4.||Disconnect the SPo connector from the SPi connector (A).|
|5.||Connect the special tool (2 W connector) to the SPi connector (A).|
|6.||Reconnect the battery negative cable.|
|7.||Erase the DTC memory.|
|8.||Read the DTC.|
Is DTC 12-1 indicated?
YES - Go to 9.
NO - Open or increased resistance in the front passenger's side airbag inflator, replace the front passenger's side airbag.n
|9.||Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.|
|10.||Disconnect the TL1o and TR1o connectors (A) from the TL1i and TR1i connectors (B).|
|11.||Disconnect the U2o connector (A) from the SRS unit.|
|12.||Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator (special tool) from the SRS simulator lead C.|
|13.||Check resistance between the A and B terminals of SRS simulator lead C (special tool). There should be 1.0 W or less.|
Is the resistance as specified?
YES - Faulty SRS unit or poor contact at the U2o connector and the SRS unit, check the connection between the U2o connector and the SRS unit. If the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit . n
NO - Open or increased resistance in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness.n
