DTC 3-4: | Short to Power in Left Side Seat Belt Tensioner |
Special Tools Required
SRS inflator simulator ( 07SAZ-TB4011A)
1. | Erase the DTC memory. |
2. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off. Does the SRS indicator stay on? YES - Go to 3. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. |
3. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes. |
4. | Disconnect the TL1o connector from the TL1i connector (A).

5. | Connect the special tool (2 W connector) to the TL1i connector (A). |
6. | Reconnect the battery negative cable. |
7. | Erase the DTC memory. |
8. | Read the DTC. Is DTC 3-4 indicated? YES - Go to 9. NO - Short to power in the left side seat belt tensioner; replace the left side seat belt.n |
9. | Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes. |
10. | Disconnect the TR1o connector (A) from the TR1i connector (B).

11. | Disconnect the U2o connector (A) from the SRS unit.
|
12. | Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator (special tool) from the SRS simulator lead C. |
13. | Reconnect the battery negative cable. |
14. | Turn the ignition switch ON (ll). |
15. | Check for voltage between the A terminal of the SRS simulator lead C (special tool) and body ground, between the B terminal and body ground, between the C terminal and body ground, and between the D terminal and body ground. There should be 0.5 V or less.
Is the voltage as specified? YES - Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit.n NO - Short to power in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness.n |
