ECT Sensor 2 Circuit High Voltage

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
-
Check ECT SENSOR 2 in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is about −40 °C (−40 °F) or less, or 4.90 V or more indicated?

YES

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at ECT sensor 2 and the ECM/PCM.■

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

Disconnect the ECT sensor 2 2P connector.

Connect ECT sensor 2 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 with a jumper wire.
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
-
Check ECT SENSOR 2 in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is about −40 °C (−40 °F) or less, or 4.90 V or more indicated?

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
-
Remove the jumper wire from ECT sensor 2 2P connector.
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
