Engine does not start (does not crank)
Diagnostic procedure
  1. Check for i-SHIFT DTCs (i-SHIFT model).
  2. Check for PGM-FI DTCs.
  3. Check for loose battery terminals or connections.
  4. Test the battery for a low charge.
  5. Check the starter.
  6. Check the starter cut relay (A/T model).
  7. Check the starter cut relay 1 (i-SHIFT model).
  8. Check the starter cut relay 2 (i-SHIFT model).
  9. Check the transmission range switch (A/T model).
  10. Check the transmission control module (i-SHIFT model).
  11. Check the brake switch (i-SHIFT model).
  12. Check the ignition switch or related circuits.
Also check for
  • Poor ground at G302 (LHD model), G401 (RHD model)
