SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 11-Bx
DTC 11-Bx (‘‘x'' can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F):
Short to Ground in the Driver's Airbag Second Inflator (LHD model)
NOTE:
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
Is DTC 11-Bx indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.■
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
  1. Check for continuity between the No. 7 and the No. 8 terminals of SRS unit connector A (39P) and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 8 .
NO -
Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit. ■
  1. Check for continuity between the No. 7 and the No. 8 terminals of SRS unit connector A (39P) and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 10 .
NO -
Faulty driver's airbag; replace the driver's airbag. ■
  1. Remove the column cover , then disconnect the dashboard wire harness 4P connector (A) from the cable reel.
  1. Check for continuity between the No. 7 and the No. 8 terminals of SRS unit connector A (39P) and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Short to ground in the dashboard wire harness: replace the dashboard wire harness.■
NO -
Short to ground in the cable reel; replace the cable reel. ■
