Carpet Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
  • Be careful not to damage the dashboard and other interior trim pieces.
  • When removing components, use the trim tools or equivalent.
  • RHD model is shown; LHD model is symmetrical.
  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
  1. Remove these items:
  1. From the bottom of the both rear seat-backs (A), detach the clips and release the Velcro fasteners (B) in the rear of the carpet (C). Pull the rear seat belt buckles (D) out through a slit, then pull the carpet out from both cargo area side trim panels.

  1. Pry up the gap (A) detach the clips and pins (B), then remove the footrest (C). RHD model is shown, LHD model is similar.

  1. Remove the front portion of the carpet (A).
    -1.
    Cut the carpet in the area (B) shown, then remove the carpet.
    -2.
    Pull the seat harnesses (C) out through the holes in the carpet.

  1. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
    • Make sure the seat harnesses are routed correctly.
    • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the Velcro fastener and the clips into place securely.
