DTC P1882:  Problem in Inhibitor Solenoid Circuit

NOTE: Record all freeze data before you troubleshoot.

1.Disconnect the inhibitor solenoid connector.

2.Measure the resistance between connector terminals at the solenoid connector.

Is the resistance 17.1-21.0 W?

YES - Go to 3.

NO - Replace the inertia switch.n

3.Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

4.Disconnect PCM connector C (22P).

5.Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C6 and body ground.

Is there continuity?

YES - Repair short to ground in the wire between PCM connector terminal C6 and the inertia switch.n

NO - Go to 6.

6.Connect the inhibitor solenoid connector.

7.Disconnect PCM connector A (31P).

8.Measure the resistance between PCM connector terminals C6 and A4 or A5.

Is the resistance 17.1-21.0 W?

YES - Check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good  PCM and recheck.n

NO - Repair loose terminals or open in the wire between PCM connector terminals C6, A4 or A5 and the inertia switch.n
